You are watching: Why does cinnamon gum burn your tongue

So yesterday ns bought a pack of "Excel Inferno" and also chewed it for the an initial time. I chewed it for a couple of hours during my classes, and also then spit it out
approximately around 2. Anyways, ns didn"t an alert anything until dinner time - my tongue was a tiny bit swollen, however I might BARELY taste any type of food. I figured it would certainly go away, but I woke up today and tried eating, and also I still can"t taste anything. Mine tongue virtually feels numb.Has anyone had any kind of experience with this, and also does anyone know how long this lasts? i think the gums burned the taste buds best off mine tongue (if that"s possible, anyway)...

Excel is my favorite gum...noooo-but not cinnamon. It is Spearmint and also there is constantly a shortage at every store I go to...never any stock

Looking in ~ Excel, there is simply 12 ingredient in the Spearmint and the Clorophyll kinds.maybe it is the cinnamon oil or flavoring that burns your mouth?i find Excell gum cheap though-it does not last an ext than 30 minutes...
you obviously have some kind of allergy to something in the gun, does anything rather burn your tongue?
