You are watching: Kawasaki bayou 300 4x4 clutch adjustment
I freshly acquired(CHEAP!) a "95 bayou 300 4x4. I have noticed a small slippage in 3rd and fourth gears. I accidentally addded 1/4 qt. Of constant oil to the oil that remained in it before I realized it essential Jaso-spec oil because that wet clutch. Ns drained the oil and added valvoline atv oil, but didnt replace the filter(its ~ above order). Still slipping a little. My clutch has actually 2 that the adjusting screw/bolt combos underneath the "clutch adjustment" cover. Which one perform I usage for adj? Both? Also, perform you think i still have actually the old oil between the clutch plate, causing slippage? shifts fine, otherwise, save for shifting difficult into gear from a dead stop(maybe the idle is a tiny too high?) HELP!
The 300 only has a clutch relax adjustment. Go to Kawasaki.com and also follow the web links to the components diagrams for the clutch. Look at for part number 92009, the is the clutch relax adjuster. I would certainly suspect the clutch key frictions room due because that replacement based upon the period of the machine.
Thanks RCW. Ns looked in ~ the diagram a million times before, but I simply noticed the adjuster. Ns forgot to add that mine bayou clutch only slips when winding out 4th and fifth gear. Most likely still the clutch, ns know, however I hoe the il helps. The man I acquired it from states the clutch is relatively new, and I not remember it slipping as soon as I very first got it. I ony really placed 4 or 5 hrs on it because that the first time last saturday.
